Senior Barbers

Overview

Tommy Gun’s Original Barbershop is looking for four (4) Full-Time Senior Barbers (NOC 63210)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 30 hours per week.
Job Description:
• Cut and trim hair according to client’s instructions or preferences
• Shave and trim beards and moustaches
• Be able to use a straight razor for fine details to all cuts as well as beard trims and full-face shaves
• May shampoo hair and provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and may also provide scalp conditioning massages
• Suggest hairstyle compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences
• Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair
• Book appointments and order supplies
• Have the advanced knowledge required in barbering to teach and mentor other barbers on staff to excel at all cuts and techniques
• Assist in front desk duties such as opening and closing of the shop as well as the checking in and out clients
• Understand all retail in shop and be able to communicate and sell products to clients as needed based on professional assessment of the hair.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training as desired, maintaining new and up and up and coming techniques and styles

Job Requirements:
• Completion of a seven-month to one-year apprenticeship or other barber program; or equivalent
• Ontario Hairstylist Trade Certificate or ability to obtain one
• Must have straight razor knowledge
• Great customer service skills – can you go above and beyond for every guest, every time
• Language in the workplace is English
We offer:
• Paid service dollars and tips; or guaranteed minimum salary of $58,000 annually; whichever is greater.
