Overview
Silver Star Mountain Resort is looking for two (2) Full-Time Head Chefs (NOC 62200)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 30-40 hours per week, $26.50 to $27.00/hour + gratuities.
Job Description:
· Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
· Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
· Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
· Supervise activities of cooks and other kitchen staff
· Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
· Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of restaurants – will mainly be working at Red Antler or The Den at Silver Star
· Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs
· Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
· Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
· Create new recipes
Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards “FOOD SAFE”
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Job Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of work experience in commercial food preparation
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Familiar with industry’s best practices
Food Safe required
Culinary school diploma an asset
Positive attitude
· Language in the workplace is English
