Personal Care Attendant

Overview

Roland H. is looking for a Full-Time Personal Care Attendant (NOC 44101)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week, $24.65/hour.

Job Description:

·         Provide bedside, personal, and companion care to an elderly client with kindness, patience, and respect

·         Assist with bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene

·         Administer medications as prescribed

·         Assist client in and out of bed

·         Change and monitor bandages

·         Assist with basic medical care and monitoring, including managing drainage equipment, recording outputs, and helping coordinate lab samples as directed by healthcare providers

·         Prepare and serve nutritious meals

·         Perform light housekeeping, including laundry and linen care

·         Take out garbage and help maintain a clean, safe household

·         Answer phone calls and assist with basic household coordination

·         Provide supervision and help monitor the home

·         Assist with care and supervision of client’s pet chihuahua

Job Requirements:

·         Must have experience working with elderly in a home, caregiver setting – minimum 7 months

·         Must be physically capable to lift/carry client as needed

·         First aid certification is an asset

·         Language in the workplace is English

We offer:

·         $24.65 per hour, 40 hours per week

·         In-home accommodation is available (free board is available but not required). Keep in mind this is not a condition of employment.

Job Location:

Employer’s home is located in the Cilaire neighbourhood in Nanaimo, BC (Cilaire Drive).
