Licenced Practical Nurses (LPN)

Overview

Points West Living PWL Wainwright is looking for two (2) Full-Time Licenced Practical Nurses (LPN) (NOC 32101)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week, $37.50/hour, with benefits.

Job Description:

·         Ensure resident care is provided in accordance with Continuing Care Type B/Secure services using LPN best practices, community Wellness Strategies, quality improvement guidelines, regulations and available applicable Continuing Care resources.

·         Promote autonomy by encouraging resident participation in their own wellness (care) plans.

·         Perform duties and services required while supporting the Resident’s lifestyle in accordance with the Resident’s individualized Care Plan/ service authorization provided by Homecare with a focus on meaningful engagement and personalized support.

·         Provide ongoing advocacy for excellence in resident care, appropriate resident supports and a healthy community culture using the skills and knowledge as an LPN combined with the assessments and tools available in community.

·         Act as an advocate for residents’ emotional, physical, and social well-being.

·         Communicate and participate in meetings with health care professionals such as Physicians, Pharmacists, Case Managers, Wellness Manager/Supervisor, families, and any other care partners required to facilitate the highest care for the Resident.

·         Ensure that communication promotes respect, collaboration, and transparency.

·         Lead, mentor and coach the health care aides, and care aides from initial onboarding through their career in the community, this extends to temporary or student placements. Provide support and guidance to nurture their growth and engagement with the community.

·         Clear, professional and consistent communication and documentation with internal and external stakeholders

·         Always maintain confidentiality and modeling professionalism in the community

·         Support the achievement and maintenance of all regulatory requirements for the community while keeping residents’ well-being at the heart of decision-making.

Job Requirements:

·         Completion of a vocational, college or other approved program for licensed practical nurses

·         LPN registration with CLHA College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta

·         Completion of a registration examination

·         Language in the workplace is English
