Farm Workers

Overview

Mountain View Growers Inc. is looking for two (2) Full-Time Farm Workers (NOC 85103)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week, $20.00/hour, with benefits.

Job Description:

·         Assisting in non-technical aspects of crop care to ensure cultural timelines are met and maintaining the nursery’s cultural infrastructure

·         Preparation and sterilizing of growing container

·         Loading and unloading a semiautomatic washing line, palletizing, and preparing for storage

·         Preparation of growing media and growing media mixes – coco, styroprill, peat moss

·         Preparation of growing facilities to receive crops (benching, irrigation, greenhouses, open compounds).

·         Participate in all aspects of the sowing operation

·         Loading and unloading a semiautomatic sow line and filling growing facilities

·         Participate in weeding, thinning, roguing, spacing and relocation of crops throughout the year

·         Assist in the collection of cultural data.

·         Participate in all aspects of the harvest operation

·         Sorting, bundling, wrapping, boxing, preparing harvest materials, palletizing and loading trucks.

·         Assist in maintaining clean growing and production facilities to ensure crop health and safe nursery operation.

·         Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of cultural infrastructure (benching, irrigation, growing facilities)

Job Requirements:

·         Previous related experience is an asset, but not required
