Overview

Kelly O’Bryan’s Neighbourhood Restaurant, Vernon, BC is looking for three (3) Cooks for our location at 4215 32nd Street, Vernon, BC V1T 5P3. This is a permanent full-time position with 35-40 hours per week, $18.00 to $19.00 per hour, plus gratuities and group benefits after 1 year.

The job duties are as follows:

Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
Manage kitchen operations
Monitor and order supplies
Inspect kitchens and food service areas
Order supplies and equipment
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
Clean kitchen and work areas
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a Cook
Be able to communicate in English
Should be willing to take on leadership roles
Flexible hours between day & night shifts
Have knowledge of inventory control
Proper use of kitchen tools and equipment and lock out procedures
Knife skills and common cuts
Basic understanding of culinary terminology
Ability and willingness to complete Food Safe Level I
Ability and willingness to complete WHMIS or equivalent (workplace hazards training)
Understand and implement proper fire safety procedures (training provided)
