Overview
Island Xpressions Hair and Beauty Studio Inc is looking for two (2) Full-Time Hairstylists (NOC 63210)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 32-40 hours per week, $21.00/hour, with benefits.
Job Description:
· Color, cut and provide natural hair treatments
· Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide treatment for scalp and hair
· Clean, install and style wigs and hair pieces
· Install hair extensions such as weaves, K-tip extensions, and male units.
Braid client’s hair: knotless braids, feed in cornrow braids, twists etc
· Suggest hairstyle compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences
· Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair
· Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair
· Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair
· Clean and style wigs and hair pieces
· Apply hair extensions
· May shampoo and rinse hair
· May perform receptionist duties and order supplies
· May train or supervise other hairstylists, hairstylist apprentices and helpers.
Job Requirements:
· Must have 1 year of experience as a hairstylist
· Familiarity in the following hairstyling techniques is an asset: braiding rope twists, plaits, feed-in cornrows, knotless braids, boho braids, crochet braids, crochet locs, hair detox, scalp health solutions, wig installation, chemical hair relaxing, keratin therapy, locs & natural hair styling
· Previous training in trichology is an asset
· Language in the workplace is English
