Delivery truck driver

Overview

Operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various goods and products
Plan delivery routes and follow schedules using maps or GPS navigation systems
Load, unload, and secure goods to ensure safe transportation
Collect payments, process invoices, and obtain proof of delivery as required
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel usage, and expenses
Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues
Ensure compliance with traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
Provide courteous and professional customer service during deliveries
Communicate delays, accidents, or issues to the dispatcher or supervisor promptly
Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery vehicle

Job Requirements:
Secondary school education is an asset

Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Clean driving record preferred

Ability to lift and carry packages (up to employer standards)

Knowledge of local routes and traffic laws

Good communication and time-management skills
