Professional Class 1 Drivers

Overview

Excel Transportation Inc is looking for two (2) Full-Time Professional Class 1 Drivers (NOC 73300)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40-60 hours per week.

Job Description:

·         Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, weighing up to a maximum of 63,500 kg with three or more axles, to transport goods and material to destinations

·         Operate trucks on both public and private roads

·         Driving on active logging roads

·         Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

·         Load and unload wood fibre

·         Perform preventive maintenance

·         Perform brake adjustments

·         Communicate with dispatcher and other drivers using two-way radio and onboard computer.

·         Calling mileage point on logging roads

·         Mechanically inclined -Perform emergency roadside repairs

·         Record load information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

·         Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle

·         Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes and other equipment

·         Receive and relay information to central dispatch

Job Requirements:

·         Class 1 Driver’s licence with Air Brakes Endorsement required

·         Completion of Defensive Driving Course

·         Physically fit – up to 45kg weight handling

·         Language in the workplace is English
