Overview

Carlos O’Bryan’s Neighbourhood Pub, Kamloops, BC is looking for three (3) Cooks for our location at 357 Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC V2C 2A3.  This is a permanent full-time position with 30-35 hours per week, $19.00 to $21.00 per hour.

The job duties are as follows:

·         Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods

·         Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food

·         Supervise kitchen staff and helpers

·         Manage kitchen operations

·         Monitor and order supplies

·         Inspect kitchens and food service areas

·         Order supplies and equipment

·         Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment

·         Clean kitchen and work areas

Successful candidates must have the following credentials:

·         Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience as a Cook

·         Be able to communicate in English

·         Should be willing to take on leadership roles

·         Flexible hours between day & night shifts

·         Have knowledge of inventory control

·         Proper use of kitchen tools and equipment and lock out procedures

·         Knife skills and common cuts

·         Basic understanding of culinary terminology

·         Ability and willingness to complete Food Safe Level I

·         Ability and willingness to complete WHMIS or equivalent (workplace hazards training)

·         Understand and implement proper fire safety procedures (training provided)
