Overview
Britannia Brewing Ladner is looking for a 2 (two) Sous Chef (NOC 62200-2)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week.
Job Description:
· Hands on cooking in the line with other cooks to ensure smooth service
· Supervise activities of specialist chefs, cooks, Garde mange, and other kitchen workers
· Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
· Prepare and cook complete meals such as pastries, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables and meat, poultry and fish dishes, and create decorative food displays for special events such as weddings and events
· Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
· Create new recipes and weekly specials
· May plan menus including order planning, ingredients cross utilization and kitchen supplies
· Will support Chef with food orders and kitchen supplies.
· Supervise and train cooks and other kitchen staff, as required
· Responsible for ensuring opening and closing duties in kitchen are completed, including temperature logs, sanitary procedures and food safety
· Works closely with Head Chef and represents the Chef as required
Job Requirements:
· Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cook/Sous with at least 2 years in an international brand restaurant, hotel chain or highly touristic location catering to international clientele and cuisine.
· High school requested, higher-level education is an asset
· Language in the workplace is English
We offer:
· Wage of $36.60/hour
· Extended health after 90 days
