Retail Butchers

Overview

 

Blind Bay Village Grocer is looking for two Full-Time Retail Butchers (NOC 63201)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week, $25.00/hour, with medical benefits (60-40 split).

Job Description:

·         Cut carcasses, sides and quarters

·         Cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat

·         Remove bones from meat

·         Cut poultry into parts

·         Clean and prepare fish and shellfish

·         Cut fish into steaks and fillets

·         Grind meats

·         Make special sausages

·         Slice cooked meats

·         Prepare special orders

·         Prepare special displays of meats, poultry and fish products

·         Shape, lace and tie roasts, other meats, poultry and seafood

·         Weigh meats for sale

·         Sell meats to customers

·         Wrap and package prepared meats

Job Requirements:

·         Minimum 2 years of on-the-job training in food stores as retail butcher

·         Minimum completion of high school

·         Training certificate in meat cutting or butchering is an asset

·         Language in the workplace is English
