Back of House Manager

Overview

Bamboo Chopsticks Vietnamese Restaurant in downtown Kelowna is looking for a Full-Time Back of House Manager (NOC 60030) to join our team! This is a full-time, permanent position with 30-40 hours per week.

Job Description:

·         Oversee and manage back-of-house operations of Bamboo Chopsticks Downtown

·         Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures

·         Recruit staff and oversee staff training

·         Prepare, adjust, and manage BOH staff schedules to meet operational needs.

·         Conduct performance evaluations and identify training or coaching needs.

·         Coordinate cooking and plating to maintain authenticity, taste, and presentation standards

·         Ensure full compliance with local health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

·         Implement and maintain HACCP or other food-safety procedures (as required).

·         Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment, tools, and workstations.

·         Control inventory and monitor revenues

·         Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed

·         Organize BOH workflow to maintain speed, efficiency, and safety.

·         Work with the front-of-house team to coordinate service, communicate wait times, and ensure smooth operation of the restaurant.

·         Participate in planning for seasonal menus, special events, catering orders, and peak-demand adjustments.

·         Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies

·         Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.

 

Job Requirements:

·         Minimum 3 years of experience in the food service sector

·         Previous experience working at an Asian restaurant is an asset

·         Language in the workplace is English

We offer:

·         $30.00 to $37.00 per hour

·         Commissions

·         Potential performance-based wage raises
