Overview
Air Rock Drilling Co Ltd is an established family water well drilling business looking for a Full-Time Shop Technician/Heavy Duty Mechanic (NOC 72401)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40+ hours per week, $35.00 to $40.00/hour, with benefits.
Job Description:
· Repair and maintain heavy equipment (specialized drill equipment and service trucks).
· Perform mechanical, welding, electrical, and structural repairs on frames, chassis, tracks, wheels, tires, and brake systems.
· Weld using MIG, TIG, and stick techniques, applying advanced metal fabrication skills.
· Diagnose and service diesel engines and complex electrical systems, particularly in heavy equipment which includes our specialized drilling equipment and service trucks.
· Inspect and repair chassis frameworks, tires, braking systems, and track-based equipment components.
· Conduct body work on equipment using fiberglass and/or steel, ensuring proper structural restoration.
· Maintain the company’s standard of excellence in our equipment.
· Respond to job site breakdowns with mobile repair capability, conducting on-site, mobile assessments and repairs as needed.
· Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues under field conditions.
· Help manage the day-to-day organization of the shop / garage.
· Maintain a neat, organized and safe shop
· Safely operate hand and electrical/battery tools, various oils and lubricants, paints and other items required for the operation of the shop.
Job Requirements:
· Minimum 3 years of experience
· Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
· Proficiency in welding, metal fabrication, diesel engines, autobody, electrical systems in an asset
· Ability to switch tasks quickly and easily
· Be safety conscious, with positive attitude
· Language in the workplace is English

Job Location:
Shop located at 6659 Franktown Road, Richmond, ON K0A 2Z0. Some travel to sites around Ottawa area may be necessary.
