Responsibilities

Tasks

·       Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt-saturated felts and hot asphalt, and gravel.

·       Install a single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions.

·       Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.

·       Repair or replace shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings.

·       Repair roofing systems.

·       Instruct apprentices.

·       Supervise other workers.

·        Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.

·        Install sheet metal flashings.

·        Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms.

·        Cut materials using power tools or by hand.

·       Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment.

·        Assist Team Leads and Journeymen in constructing and assemblingg layers of roofing from insulation to all types of flat roofing membranes (Including TPO, EPDM, SBS, PVC).

·        Assist in the installation and/or repair of PVC and vinyl-type flat roofs of commercial buildings.

·       Work on new roofing installations and the replacement of previously installed/damaged systems.

·       Install sheet metal flashings.

·       Maintain proper safety codes and procedures.

·       Work as a vital part of a knowledgeable team to make sure that all work is completed in a timely manner.
