Line Pump Operator

Overview

City Pumping Ltd is looking for a Full-Time Line Pump Operator (NOC 73400)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week, $36.60/hour, with benefits.

Job Description:

·         Operate and control truck-mounted or trailer-mounted concrete line pumps to place concrete at construction sites

·         Operate and maintain line pumps and boom pumps in accordance with company safety standards and manufacturer guidelines

·         Set up and dismantle pipeline systems (hoses, clamps, reducers, steel lines) safely and efficiently

·         Coordinate with ready-mix drivers, site supervisors, and crew to ensure proper concrete flow and placement

·         Monitor pump operation, pressure, and material consistency to ensure safe and effective pumping

·         Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with company policy and NSC requirements

·         Inspect and perform daily maintenance on pumps and equipment to ensure proper working conditions

·         Conduct routine maintenance including cleaning, greasing, and minor troubleshooting of pumping equipment

·         Safely prime, pump, and clean out lines (including sponge procedures) at the end of pours

·         Identify and mitigate hazards including line blockages, hose whipping, and pressure buildup

·         Follow all WorkSafeBC regulations, including safe work procedures for concrete pumping operations

·         Maintain safe distances and procedures when working near overhead powerlines and utilities

·         Use proper PPE and ensure job site safety for self and others

·         Complete required documentation including daily logs, inspection records, and incident reports

·         Assist with general site coordination related to concrete placement as required

Job Requirements:

·         Completion of a one- to two-year apprenticeship program OR minimum 1-2 years of experience operating concrete pumps (line pump and/or boom pump)

·         Valid Class 3 or Class 1 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record, or ability to get one

·         Strong knowledge of concrete pumping equipment and industry best practices

·         Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on concrete pumps

·         Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift up to 50 lbs

·         Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

·         High attention to detail and safety awareness

·         Ability to work flexible hours and weekends when required

·         Language in the workplace is English
