Responsibilities
Tasks
· Determine the size of food portions and costs
· Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
· Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
· Inspect kitchens and food service areas
· Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
· Order supplies and equipment
· Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
· Clean kitchen and work areas
· Organize buffets and banquets
· Set up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment.
· Prepare ingredients by chopping, peeling, and cutting as required.
· Cook food using various utensils and cooking methods.
· Monitor and adjust food while cooking to ensure quality.
· Present dishes attractively before serving.
· Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized kitchen environment.
· Properly store food and kitchen items to ensure freshness and safety.
· Check ingredient quality and manage inventory.
· Monitor stock levels and place orders to avoid shortages.
