Black Diamond Bar & Grill is looking for a Full-Time Pastry Chef (NOC 62200)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 30-40 hours per week.

Job Description:

·         Plan, create, and execute a wide variety of baked goods, desserts, and pastries

·         Design seasonal and specialty dessert menus in alignment with the restaurant’s concept

·         Develop and test new pastry recipes and techniques

·         Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, icings, and other components from scratch

·         Ensure all desserts meet quality, flavor, and presentation standards

·         Supervise and train kitchen staff involved in dessert preparation

·         Monitor production schedules to ensure timely preparation and service

·         Manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies, and coordinate ordering

·         Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in the pastry kitchen

·         Decorate cakes, tarts, and plated desserts with precision and creativity

·         Collaborate with the Executive Chef on overall menu planning and special events

·         Adjust recipes and offerings to accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies

·         Oversee proper storage of baked goods and ingredients to maintain freshness

·         Manage pastry kitchen budget and track food cost and waste

·         Inspect equipment for cleanliness and functionality, and request maintenance as needed

·         Prepare custom or specialty desserts for events, banquets, and private functions

·         Keep up to date with industry trends, seasonal flavors, and presentation styles

·         Work efficiently under pressure to meet high-volume service demands

·         Ensure consistency in product quality across all shifts and team members

·         Assist with training programs for apprentices or new hires in the pastry department

Job Requirements:

·         Minimum 2-3 years of experience in commercial food preparation/dessert/pastry

·         Language in the workplace is English

We offer:

·         $35.00 per hour
