Lead Carpenter

Overview

Burton Marine Pile Driving Inc. is looking for a Full-Time Lead Carpenter (NOC 72310)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40-45 hours per week, $35.00 to $39.00/hour, with benefits.

Job Description:

·         Carpentry work requiring knowledge of marine construction and pile installation for marine structures such as docks, piers, marinas, and breakwaters

·         Construct, repair, and renovate residential and commercial docks

·         Read and interpret drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements

·         Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials

·         Supervise a crew of skilled labourers (around 3)

·         Chain saw work including topping of piles to laser level heights

Job Requirements:

·         Minimum 3 years of experience as a Carpenter

·         Class 5 British Columbia Driver’s License, with a clean driving record required.

·         Must have a valid BC Boating Licence

·         Must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.

·         Previous experience in marine structure construction is an asset

·         Completion of Journeyman Carpenter certificate or post-secondary training in Carpentry is an asset

·         Language in the workplace is English
