Overview
Silver Star Mountain Resort is looking for three Full-Time Chefs (NOC 62200)! This is a full-time, perma-nent position with 40 hours per week, $24.50 to $26.50/hour + gratuities.
Job Description:
• Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
• Supervise activities of cooks and other kitchen staff
• Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of restaurants – will mainly be working at Red Antler or The Den at Silver Star
• Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
• Create new recipes
• Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards “FOOD SAFE”
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Job Requirements:
• Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in commercial food preparation
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Familiar with industry’s best practices
• Food Safe required
• Culinary school diploma an asset
• Positive attitude
• Language in the workplace is English
