Truck Driver

Overview

Hi-Way Knights Transport Ltd is looking for five (5) Full-Time Truck Drivers (NOC 73300)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 60-70 hours per week.

Job Description:

• Operate and drive primarily tractor-trailor, long-combination vehicle and straight-body trucks weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials over long distances

• Plan and follow long-haul routes between Kelowna, Chilliwack, and Prince George.

• Ensure familiarity with road conditions, traffic, and weather to optimize travel time and safety.

• Adhere to scheduled departure and arrival times to ensure timely delivery.

• Inspect cargo and ensure proper loading and securement before departure.

• Assist with or supervise the unloading of goods upon arrival at destinations.

• Verify that cargo is undamaged and meets delivery requirements.

• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure truck is roadworthy.

• Maintain accurate logbooks of driving hours and rest periods as per regulations.

• Ensure all required permits and paperwork (e.g., bills of lading, delivery documentation) are up-to-date.

• Drive safely under various weather conditions and road types (mountain roads, highways, ur-ban areas).

• Interact professionally with clients, customers, and warehouse personnel during pick-up and de-livery.

Job Requirements:

• Must have Class 1 Driver’s Licence with air brake endorsement (or equivalent)

• Previous experience driving trucks is preferred

• Language in the workplace is English

We offer:

• We pay on a per-trip basis which equates to $35.00 per hour.

• Safety bonus and performance bonus every 3 months
